What's a PU number?Updated 15 hours ago
Spotted a PU number on your order? No need to worry — your order is on its way, just not quite out the door yet. Here's what it means and what happens next.
PU stands for Pick Up
A PU number means your order has been picked and packed in our warehouse — your MiniBrew is off the shelf and ready to go. However, it hasn't been dispatched yet because the shipping paperwork is still being arranged.
This can happen with any order, but it is most common with shipments that require export documentation (such as orders outside the EU).
What happens before your order ships?
Once your order has a PU number, here's what our team works through before it's handed to the carrier:
1. Export paperwork. A customs agent prepares the export documents — a special set of papers that ensures your package can move through customs smoothly.
2. Packaging check Our customs agent verifies that the packaging meets shipping requirements, including being sturdy enough to withstand the journey. (All MiniBrew boxes are factory drop-tested to meet these standards, so this step is usually quick.)
3. Dispatch confirmation Once everything checks out, you'll receive an email with your official tracking link. From that point, your order is on its way! 🍺
How long does this take?
The time between a PU number being assigned and your order being dispatched depends on how quickly the paperwork can be processed. On average, it takes 1-2 weeks. If you've been waiting longer than expected and haven't received a tracking update, feel free to reach out via our Contact page, and we'll check on it for you.
Shipping outside the EU?
If your order is heading outside the EU, you may also be liable for import duties and VAT upon arrival. Here's what you need to know before your package arrives.
